Antique French dough bowl - large 39"

This large antique French wooden trough (or dough) bowl dates from the end of the nineteenth century. Likely made from beechwood, it has been beautifully carved and has weathered over time, adding to its rustic nature. Wooden vessels such as this were originally used to mix bread dough. Today, they make magnificent centerpieces in tablescapes, filled with fruit, ornaments and foliage, or serve as attractive vessels for storing produce or other items on shelves.
